Officials are investigating a fatal plane crash in Stagecoach, Nevada, which has left at least five people dead.

The aircraft was identified as a PC 12 fixed-wing plane operated by Care Flight, a service of the Regional Emergency Medical Services Authority Health.

The plane was carrying a pilot, a flight nurse, paramedic, and a patient when it crashed.

Lyon County Sheriff’s Office received several reports of a possible aircraft crash on February 24, 2023, at approximately 9:15 pm.

The plane was later located around 11:15 pm, and there were no survivors.

REMSA Health, the emergency medical services provider, confirmed the crash and stated that it was notifying the families of the deceased.

Care Flight, a service of REMSA Health, and Guardian Flight confirmed that the PC 12 fixed-wing aircraft, tail number N273SM, went off the radar near Stagecoach, Nevada, at approximately 9:45 pm on February 24, 2023.

REMSA Health’s new fixed-wing program covers approximately 50,000 square miles of California and Nevada, with a fleet of four helicopters, one aeroplane, and one Critical Care Ground Transport.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, and more information will be provided as it becomes available.

Guardian and Care Flight flights across the company are in a passive stand down as part of the safety process in these situations until they can return to service.
