Nigeria international and Al Hilal forward, Odion Ighalo, along with retired football legend Austin ‘Jay Jay’ Okocha, have responded to a post by former footballer Obafemi Martins, where he dismissed rumors of welcoming a set of triplets.
Martins had shared a photo on his verified Instagram page featuring himself and individuals holding a set of triplets.
However, he clarified that the photo was taken during his foundation’s donation to a maternity hospital for underprivileged mothers, urging the public to disregard the false reports.
In a statement, Martins addressed the rumors, stating, “Please note there is fake news circulating that I have had quadruplets, these are stupid rumors formed by someone looking for fame.”
Reacting to Martins’ clarification, both Odion Ighalo and Jay Jay Okocha responded by posting a laughing emoji, implying their amusement at the situation.
It is worth noting that Martins is married to Abigail Barwuah, a Ghanaian-Italian and the sister of Mario Balotelli.
Martins, who formerly played for Newcastle United, has represented Nigeria in international competitions, scoring 18 goals in 42 appearances.
He participated in the Africa Cup of Nations in 2006, 2008, and 2010, as well as the FIFA World Cup in 2010.
