NYC Mayor Eric Adams says immigrant busload from Texas fled over ‘fear’ of serious crime

According to NYC Mayor Eric Adams, the bulk of an immigrant busload from Texas transported to the Big Apple left before they arrived out of fear for the city’s criminal activity.

We were told that the bus should have had roughly 40 passengers.

In a discussion overheard by The New York Post on Friday, Adams told the woman in charge of the convoy, “Only 14 got off”.

People may have gotten off earlier because of their dread of what may happen to them once they arrived at this spot, he theorised.

We don’t want individuals to be dumped off [just] anyplace, therefore we are concerned about that.

According to The Post, Adams was alluding to a worry about the escalating crime in New York City.

The immigrants entered the country illegally before taking advantage of a programme that Texas Governor Greg Abbott launched in the spring.

Abbott has bussed migrants to locations they would rather be, such as Washington, DC, and New York City, on the grounds that Texas is unfairly burdened with them.

Adams went to meet another coach on Sunday after one had arrived on Friday, but was allegedly horrified to find it empty.

According to the NYPD’s most recent figures, crime rates have increased by roughly 37% since last year.

When compared to the same time last year, hate crimes are up 13.3%, while transit offences are up 53%.

Felony assaults are up 19%, while rapes are up 11.3%.

However, the murder rate has decreased by 4.3%.

Adams’ office has been approached by DailyMail.com for comment over the statements made to the Post.

He tweeted that New York was helping asylum seekers by “stepping up.”

Adams claimed that “@GregAbbott TX utilised innocent individuals as political pawns to fabricate a crisis.”

“New Yorkers are taking action to make things right; that’s what our city values are,”

But we require assistance from the federal government in many ways, both financial and technological.

“New York City, unlike Governor Abbott, will always do our share, and I appreciate the NGOs, City employees, and regular New Yorkers who have proven that today,” the mayor said.

President Joe Biden’s administration is assisting New York and Washington, D.C., with the migrant populations who have arrived from Texas, according to White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre on Friday.
