Jim Wilson, host of the drive show on Sydney radio station 2GB, condemned the Central Coast Council of New South Wales as “disgraceful”

Wilson asserted, “This is the mob that amassed a half-billion dollars in debt, and poor ratepayers had to pay for their financial irresponsibility.”

‘Those moron councilors were fired and replaced by an administrator, but it appears that the awful decision-making has continued. It raises my blood pressure.NSW council’s ‘unbelievable decision’ to ban Australian flag flying criticized

A representative for the Central Coast Council told the Daily Mail Australia that the prohibition only applies to the Australian flag on town-centre street banners, with a final decision to be taken at the October 11 council meeting.

Jim Wilson, host of the 2GB drive program, criticized the Central Coast Council of New South Wales’s decision, calling it “disgraceful.”

Wilson thundered, ‘It is the Australian flag, a significant part of our history, and yet the Central Coast Council – who should be focusing on waste, potholes, and genuinely fixing their financial issue – says no, you can’t fly our national flag on our national day.

This group opposes displaying the Australian flag on street banners. Seriously, councils must stay inside their boundaries.

However, according to the council, the recommendation in the policy report only applies to town center street banners.Central Coast Council, however, said the idea it is refusing to fly the national flag is a 'misconception' and it will continue to fly it on 'all appropriate infrastructure'

Matthew Wales, president of the Peninsula Chamber of Commerce on the Central Coast, stated on 2GB council that he is “mystified” and “dumbfounded” by the decision to not fly the Australian flag on municipal assets.

“We are very perplexed. Mr. Wales stated, “You couldn’t make this stuff up if you tried.”

We have absolutely no idea what to do at this time. Our local community is shaking its head and the business community is up in arms.

Jim Wilson (shown) stated that the Central Coast Council should focus on trash and potholes and that they should “keep in their lane.”

Central Coast Council, however, stated it is a “misconception” that it is refusing to fly the national flag and that it will continue to do so on “all appropriate infrastructure.”

The aim and premise of the Street Banner Policy and the Flying of Flags policy are misunderstood, according to council documents titled “Council refuse to fly the Australian national flag.”

Council now flies official and national flags on all suitable infrastructure, including outside the Wyong Administration Building and within Council Chambers, and will continue to do so.

“Council will continue to support acceptable requests to fly national or official flags on open space and community facility assets, providing flagpole infrastructure is available.”

The council was criticized in January after it was stated they would not fly the Australian flag on Australia Day because “it would hurt people.”

Since 2017, the Australian flag has not flown on the main thoroughfare of Umina Beach on Australia Day, and the business chambers’ offer to pay for the flags was rejected once again this year.

Instead of the Australian flag, banners commemorating the 100th anniversary of the local Ocean Beach Surf Club were flown in 2022.
