The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has strongly criticized the Muslim-Muslim ticket fielded by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming 2023 election.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today, NEF spokesman Hakeem Baba-Ahmed labeled it as a fraudulent move.

Baba-Ahmed expressed concern over the use of religion by Nigerian politicians to undermine the country’s political system and poison the faith of its citizens.

The NEF spokesman further pointed out that even though Nigeria had a Muslim president, Muhammadu Buhari, for eight years, the North did not experience significant improvements during that period.

Baba-Ahmed questioned the value that Muslim-Muslim ticket candidates like El-Rufai brought to the Muslim population, citing instances where their actions appeared to be detrimental to their own religious community.
