Nigerian singer, Zlatan Ibile, did not hold back in expressing his displeasure when a Twitter user referred to him as an ex-convict.

The singer swiftly responded and insulted the user’s father in return.

Zlatan Ibile’s Arrest by the EFCC in Relation to Internet Fraud

In 2019, Zlatan Ibile was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), shortly after his close friend and associate, Naira Marley, was also apprehended by the agency.

The arrest was related to their support for Naira Marley’s statement that internet fraud should not be considered a crime.

Additionally, both artists released a song that mocked the perception of them as “Yahoo boys,” which piqued the interest of the EFCC regarding their lifestyle.

Statement from the EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) issued a statement explaining the reason for arresting the singers.

According to Tony Orilade, the EFCC spokesman, they were apprehended in connection with an alleged case of internet fraud and money laundering.

The arrest was made based on intelligence reports that linked them to cybercrime offenses.

Alongside Zlatan Ibile, the individuals arrested included Tiamiu Abdulrahman Kayode, Adewunmi Adeyanju Moses, and Abubakar Musa.
