The Nigeria Under-20 Women B Team emerged victorious in a thrilling match against Benin Republic, securing a 3-0 win in the semi-finals of the ongoing WAFU B Under-20 Women Championship held in Kumasi, Ghana.
This victory has propelled them to the highly anticipated final of the championship, where they are set to face the Ghana Under-20 women’s team at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Nigeria’s Early Lead and Dominance:
In the semi-final clash, the Nigerian Under-20 women’s team swiftly took control of the game, with Adowunmi Omowunmi scoring a goal in the 23rd minute to give her team an early lead.
Displaying their attacking prowess, the team continued to exert pressure on their opponents.
Esther Onyenezide, the skilled attacking midfielder, contributed two more goals in the 34th and 52nd minutes, securing a comfortable victory for the Nigerian side.

While Omowunmi and Onyenezide were the goal scorers for Nigeria, it was Chinyere Kalu who was named the match’s most valuable player.
