Nia Long has broken her silence after learning that her Boston Celtics fiancé, Ime Udoka, cheated on her with a staff member.
The actress told TMZ in a statement that she was ‘blindsided’ by the affair, which occurred as she was relocating to Boston with her longtime boyfriend.
Long, 51, and Udoka, a former NBA player who is now a coach, have been in a relationship for almost a decade.
They became engaged in 2015 but have never wed, despite having a ten-year-old kid together. Additionally, she has a son from a prior relationship.
This Thursday, the Boston Celtics suspended Udoka for breaching the team’s code of conduct by having a consensual affair with an unknown staff member.
It is likely that Long discovered the adultery in this manner.
Long stated through her spokesman, “The outpouring of love and support from family, friends, and the community during this terrible time means so lot to me.”
“I request my privacy while I analyze the recent occurrences.”
She stated, “I am a mother first and foremost and will continue to prioritize my children.”
Thursday, the Celtics’ second-year head coach with a once-impeccable reputation, Udoka, was suspended for the entire next season for “many” violations of undisclosed team regulations.
In a message released on Thursday night, he apologized to the team’s players, supporters, the whole Celtics organization, and his family.
Long, 51, and Udoka, 45, have been in a relationship for more than a decade. Last August, they are shown together at the Barclays Center in New York.
Recent months were spent with the couple’s 10-year-old kid.
In addition, he suffered a “substantial pecuniary penalty,” although the exact sum is unknown.
The 45-year-old allegedly had an inappropriate relationship with a female staff employee.

Boston stated in a statement appointing Joe Mazzulla as interim coach that the future of Udoka would be resolved “at a later date.”
