New Hampshire GOP Senate candidate flip-flops on Biden’s legitimacy

24 hours after winning a close GOP primary in New Hampshire, Republican senate candidate Donald Bolduc reversed course and declared that President Joe Biden is the ‘real president’ and that the election was not stolen.

Bolduc, a retired brigadier general of the United States, competed in the New Hampshire primary as a 2020 election denier allied with former President Donald Trump, despite the fact that Trump never endorsed him.

In Tuesday’s primary, he won the Republican nomination by less than 2,000 votes against Chuck Morse, the more moderate candidate and president of the New Hampshire state senate. In the fall, he will challenge Democratic incumbent Sen. Maggie Hassan.

Thursday on America’s Newsroom with Dana Perino and Bill Hemmer on Fox News Channel, Bolduc was asked if he remained to stand by a statement he signed with 120 other generals declaring Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election.

24 hours after winning a close GOP primary in New Hampshire, Republican Senate candidate Donald Bolduc reversed course and declared that President Joe Biden is the ‘real president’ and that the election was not stolen.

He replied, “So, we live and we learn, right?”

Bolduc claimed to have conducted extensive research on the topic.

“And I have concluded – and I want to be clear about this – that the election was not stolen,” he stated.

Has there been fraud? Yes. Is this an issue for Granite Staters throughout the state? There indeed is. Is it the obligation of elected public servants to ensure that residents have faith in their voting system? Yes.’

“However, elections have repercussions,” he continued.

The Senate candidate stated, “Unfortunately, President Biden is the legitimate president of this country.”

Bolduc transitioned into an offensive stance, stating, “And he and Maggie Hassan are wrecking it.”

Hassan’s campaign characterized the about-face as comical.

Don Bolduc has spent the entirety of his campaign promoting the Big Lie, and he cannot hide from this record. Kevin Donohoe, a spokesman for Hassan’s campaign, claimed in a statement that Hassan has even expressed support for reversing the results of the 2024 election if he loses.

Donohoe continued, “A word salad on Fox will not erase his record of election rejection.”

In November, the Republicans had planned to flip New Hampshire’s Senate seat.

To gain control of the upper house, the Republicans need to flip only one Senate seat if they hold all of their present property.

However, following Bolduc’s victory, this may become more difficult.

Bolduc has made a variety of assertions that can be used by Democrats in general election attack commercials, such as the claim that coronavirus vaccines include microchips.

Having earlier criticized Bolduc, the three-term Republican governor of the state, Chris Sununu, who hails from a political dynasty in the state, put his support behind Morse days before the primary.

Sununu stated in August, ‘He is not a serious candidate, he truly isn’t, and if he were the GOP nominee, we would have a lot more difficult time’ The governor said, “He’s kind of a conspiracy theory-type candidate.”
