Netflix announces a behind-the-scenes documentary on Six Nations

Netflix has announced that they will produce a documentary series about the forthcoming 2023 Six Nations rugby tournament.

The Six Nations project follows the forthcoming FIFA World Cup documentary commissioned by the streaming giant.

This season’s footage will be featured in a 2024-released series.

A statement from Netflix reads, “Netflix has announced two new projects that further cement its status as a premier storyteller in sports, featuring exclusive, behind-the-scenes stories with the world’s most popular athletes, teams, leagues, and federations.”

“As part of its sports slate, Netflix has greenlit two new docuseries: an untitled series at the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, which will feature unprecedented, behind-the-scenes video of all 32 teams; and Six Nations, an exclusive, inside look at the international rugby event.

“The series will immerse viewers in the thrilling world of the oldest and most prestigious annual international rugby event.

It will provide fans with a glimpse of the intense behind-the-scenes action as the greatest teams in Europe compete in some of the most important matches on the rugby season for the famous trophy.

Following the popularity of the Formula 1 documentary Drive to Survive, this film is a sequel.

The new series will join an increasing number of documentaries focusing on contemporary professional sports.
