Zelda La Grange, the late Nelson Mandela’s private secretary, has been heavily chastised for praising Eskom ceo Andre De Ruyter after his unexpected resignation on Wednesday, 14 December.
The outspoken woman, who was formerly close to the former president, expressed her controversial opinions on Twitter.
Zelda La Grange lauded Eskom Group Chief Executive (GCCE) for his controversial tenure in a popular tweet.
She tweeted: “Ande de Ruyter, thank you for trying. You took a job no one wanted. Now you know why”.
On Wednesday, De Ruyter announced his resignation following months of severe public criticism. In December 2019, the former Nampak CEO joined the energy firm.
Surprisingly, Zelda had voiced her dissatisfaction with Eskom’s power shedding timetable only hours before.
She tweeted: “Make this make sense. Loadshedding 2hrs, 4hrs, 2hrs, 2hrs. So when the power is on, everything electrical gets plugged in, charged, and used, e.g., the severe strain on the grid…?”
Following Zelda’s controversial remark regarding Andre De Ruyter, she quickly became a hot topic on Twitter.
