Napoli Shkolnik files lawsuit against one of its former lawyers

Napoli Shkolnik, a New York personal injury litigation firm, has filed a lawsuit against one of its former lawyers, Heather Palmore, accusing her of taking advantage of the company’s remote work options to promote her legal firm, The Palmore Group P.C.

The legal action alleges that Palmore “quiet quit” her job, while still collecting a $400,000 salary, and worked for two law firms at once, in violation of her employment agreement and New York law.

Napoli Shkolnik claims Palmore misrepresented her skills and experience to obtain her position with the company.

The law firm is seeking the repayment of the compensation Palmore received during her period of disloyalty, as well as prejudgment and post-judgment interest, lawyer fees, putative damages, and monetary damages.

The firm alleges that computer records show that Palmore was active on her computer for “mere minutes” on many workdays, despite allegedly submitting false daily time records.

Palmore has filed her lawsuit, claiming she was subjected to and witnessed discrimination by senior management.

She denies “quiet quitting” and says she lost access to the company’s network after Napoli Shkolnik received a letter from a lawyer regarding her claims of discrimination.

She is seeking an unspecified amount of damages from her former employer.
