“My speech recovery is very slow”: Lira speaks up following a stroke

The South African Afro-pop and soul singer Lerato Moipone ‘Lira’ Molapo provided an update on her health after suffering a stroke in April 2022 that impaired her speech.

In an update to her fans, the Feel Me Good singer-songwriter Lira stated that her speech is “healing slowly.” Nonetheless, she maintains her sanity throughout her recuperation. Lira released her first post of the year, which featured her hot vacation to an undisclosed location, as well as a health update with her followers.

She wrote in the Instagram post’s caption, “Happy New Year! I have not posted anything this year. My speech recovery is extremely sluggish, but I am doing my best to maintain my sanity. I remain alive and well. I wish you excellent health, wealth, and love!”

LIRA’S RECOVERY JOURNEY
In April, Lira’s family announced that she had suffered a stroke while performing in Germany. According to the woman’s family, the stroke impacted her capacity to speak and communicate. Consequently, she took time away from her profession to recuperate.

Lira disclosed in September that she had been diagnosed with aphasia, a language ailment that impairs communication. She declared on August 22 that she was making significant progress in her recuperation. The songbird stated that she could write and speak, however she required additional time. Lira proceeded to thank her followers for their outpouring of love and prayers.

“Yesterday marked the three-month anniversary of my stroke. I am extremely pleased with myself and thankful to God for my tremendous development. Your prayers have been enormously valued. I am now able to speak, however I require a little patience. I can both read and write. So much affection for me makes me sentimental. “I am doing exceptionally well,” she wrote.
