Music legend criticized for’messy’ New Year’s Eve gospel performance

The award-winning gospel artist and pastor Andile kaMajola has been criticized for an allegedly disorderly performance on December 31 at the Centrum Park Workshop in Durban.

Numerous musicians were scheduled to participate at the highly publicized gospel concert to ring in the new year. The Super Praise gospel concert, which organizers charged between R200 and R1,000 for general admission and VVIP tickets, was nonetheless delayed.

According to Thinah Zungu, a gospel performer from KwaZulu-Natal, kaMajola is destroying the gospel sector.

Zungu wrote on his social media account that kaMajola owes gospel music fans in South Africa an apology for a “messy performance.”

In a statement released on Tuesday, kaMajola’s production company Elinda Productions Entertainment attempted to extinguish the flames.

“On behalf of our managing director, pastor Andile kaMajola, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. “We are sorry to hear that the delay in setting up the event did not match your expectations,” the production company said.

“Our production staff should have adhered to the exact requirements to minimize technical issues that caused the concert to be delayed.

“We understand your dissatisfaction, and the team would want to promise you that this error will never be repeated in the future, as we have regrouped and taken measures to ensure that a similar situation will never happen again.

“In order to ensure that such obstacles do not arise, we have hired a new events management business. We appreciate all of our supporters, associates, partners, and sponsors, and we look forward to doing business with you in the future.”
