Movie World Australia’s school holiday lines are hours long

At one of Australia’s busiest theme parks, families have paid hundreds of dollars for admission during school breaks only to wait up to three hours for a single ride.

Warner Brothers Movie World is an incredibly pricey day out, with a one-day entry for two adults and two kids costing an astounding $416 and a Fast Track ticket to bypass lines costing $149 each.

After discovering shuttered rides, massive crowds, and long lines at the Gold Coast park over the most recent school vacation, angry parents took to social media to express their disgust.

“I’d definitely give it some thought before spending a day here” (Movie World). We’ve gone on one ride and are halfway through a 2-hour wait for a second one, and it’s just 1pm. For the hundreds of dollars paid to get into the park.

Virtual lines are always crowded. A day and a lot of money were wasted. The very worst theme park visit I’ve ever experienced.

Tourists have shared pictures of wait times that were placed on posters outside of ride lines, warning of waits that might last up to 180 minutes for the busiest attractions.

Families were angry by the volume of visitors permitted over the holidays, despite the fact that Australians from all over the nation go to the Gold Coast to enjoy its assortment of amusement parks.

“I find it very unfortunate that you don’t set a restriction on the number of attendees. We paid well over $500 as a family to go cross-state for a visit today, yet we only managed 5 rides the whole day! Parent made a social media post.

We waited HOURS (sic) in line for the rides, so we were unable to attend the stunt show or the street procession. Although I understand that there are busy periods, a 140 minute plus wait for transportation is ludicrous.

People have been complaining about wait times on Twitter for Movie World, claiming they waited far longer than what was stated.

Every ride required at least 1 to 2 hours of waiting in line before getting to ride for 30 to 1:30 minutes. Make the math. Money grab. I believe the family was entertained for about 6 minutes in all, one user tweeted.

Another person remarked: “Movie world had so much more to offer twenty years ago when you could have a tour of the film studios!! We won’t be visiting again.

Many of Movie World’s most popular rides, like the Green Lantern and Scooby Doo attractions, were closed when other visitors came in September.

As a consequence, there were well over two hours worth of wait times for its other signature attractions, such as the Superman Escape.

Absolutely horrible. Avoid this location at all costs unless you are provided promises. Three adults and 27 very disappointed schoolchildren, according to a mother.

The Village Roadshow theme parks, which comprise Movie World, Sea World, and Wet and Wild, attracted a family from Tasmania who traveled to the Gold Coast, but they were utterly let down.

The mother-of-two from Tasmania commented, “The bulk of rides were under repair, not available, and then there were over 2-hour wait periods for the few attractions that were open including the Superman roller coaster and the virtual lineups were constantly filled.”

We repeatedly inquired about the Scooby Doo and were informed that it could open soon. We were also advised that we might wait in line, but it never did.

When more than half of your scheduled trips were canceled, you shouldn’t have been charging full price,

A representative for Village Roadshow Theme Parks said that attendance was strong during school breaks but that ride maintenance was being done on a daily basis.

“We are witnessing a solid school vacation time with crowd sizes comparable to those seen before to the introduction of Covid.” A representative for Movie World stated, “We have increased our operational hours for the school holidays and added an additional parade along with more events and entertainment choices across the park.”

We want to provide the best possible visitor experience, and we encourage our guests to browse our websites and download the in-park App to assist them best plan their visit. We appreciate attraction closures and prolonged ride lineups are not ideal for our customers.
