Monaco valet CRASHES £1m LaFerrari after failing to park it

To the dismay of the hypercar’s presumed owner, this is the exact moment a negligent valet wrecked a Ferrari valued more than £1 million after presumably leaving it in gear.

The embarrassing occurrence happened only a few steps from the fabled Casino Square on Avenue des Spélugues in the opulent centre of Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The white-shirted valet carefully squeaked the royal blue LaFerrari to a halt near the sidewalk, unlocked the eye-catching butterfly doors, and hopped out while he waited for the owner to get his 950 brake-horsepower beast.

The hypercar first stood still in the middle of the road, but as soon as the valet shut the car door, it started to move forward—presumably because the automatic gearbox had been left in drive.

In an attempt to pound on the brakes and avert calamity, the panicked valet tore the door back open while hopping alongside the vehicle.

Unfortunately, the expensive Ferrari was unable to stop, crashing into two nearby mopeds and just missing one of the riders.

A split second later, a guy who seemed to be the car’s owner ran across the street in shock while yelling foul words at the helpless attendant.

Are you really stupid? Why the hell are you doing that?” As he reached the driver’s side door, the guy screamed before ordering the valet to exit the vehicle.

The attendant lowered his head in shame as he dutifully dragged himself out of the broken hypercar since he seemed to be too astonished to react.

More video captured the LaFerrari moving through the streets of Monaco the morning after the collision.

It only looked to have suffered minor cosmetic damage, with minor dings and scratches on the front splitter and nose of the vehicle, which produce downforce.

But even minor repairs are likely to cost in the tens of thousands due to the LaFerrari’s extreme rarity and exorbitant price tags.

The hybrid hypercar, which was unveiled in 2013 to much fanfare and goes by the literal translation of “The Ferrari,” was promoted as the pinnacle of the illustrious Italian automaker’s contemporary age.

Nine years ago, the automobiles went on sale for between £1 million and £1.2 million, but due to the restricted manufacturing run, the sought-after cars are now routinely valued between £3 million and £5 million.

Given that the automobile had been parked still for a short time before it seemed to move forward on its own own, it is unclear precisely how the valet managed to wreck the vehicle.

The automobile stayed stalled for a few seconds on a short slope before going ahead quite fast, contrary to some social media users’ speculation that the attendant was simply unable to apply the electronic handbrake.

Others conjectured that the attendant had left the vehicle in automatic mode while it was in drive, and that the handbrake had malfunctioned or had not been properly engaged, causing the vehicle to veer ahead as he closed the door.

Three ground-breaking automobiles, including the LaFerrari, are said to have used hybrid power to attain previously unheard-of levels of performance.

Released concurrently with the Porsche 918 Spyder and the McLaren P1, the three amazing vehicles—collectively known as the “Holy Trinity”—opened the door for a new, electrically powered age of hypercars.
