ABU DHABI, 17th February, 2022 – His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, received today a phone call from President of the Maldives, Ibrahim Mohamed Saleh, who expressed his country’s condemnation of the recent Houthi terrorist attack on civil sites and facilities in the UAE.

Saleh underscored the Maldives’ solidarity with the UAE in all that it takes to preserve its security and territorial integrity.

He shed light on the Maldives’ participation in the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week, which, he said, represents a global platform that contributes to stimulating efforts aimed to accelerate sustainable development and clean energy initiatives.

The call also touched on the importance of Expo 2020 Dubai in highlighting the cultures of the participating countries, their aspirations for the future, and their development drives.

The two sides also addressed the prospects of bolstering cooperation ties between their countries, in addition to a number of regional and international issues of interest.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed wished safety and continued prosperity for the people of the Maldives.
