On an icy winter morning in Kansas, Missouri, a woman’s vehicle was dragged eight miles on a road after becoming entangled beneath a truck.

NBC says that around 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, police in Leawood, Kansas received reports that a truck traveling westbound on Interstate 435 (I-435) was dragging a silver Kia under the edge of its trailer.

According to reports, Captain Brad Robbins informed local media that he believed the truck was passing through a green light when the southbound Kia ran a red light and collided with the trailer’s rear wheels.

Two police officers were dispatched to the ‘unknown collision’, and according to police audio obtained by the local newspaper The Kansas City Star, dispatchers were told by witnesses that they ‘believe someone is inside the vehicle that is caught below the truck’

According to The Star, ambulance and fire crews also responded but were initially unable to locate the driver’s pulse.

The unidentified youngster, according to police, became entangled in her seat belt while attempting to flee the vehicle.

Kevin Palmer, 34, was charged with criminal murder in connection with the girl’s death.
