Miguel Oliveira wins rainy Thai MotoGP, Brad Binder 10th

On Sunday, Miguel Oliveira won the Thai MotoGP with a masterful performance in the rainy conditions, while world champion Fabio Quartararo came in 17th and had his advantage at the top cut to only two points.

Jack Miller of Australia finished in second, followed by Portuguese KTM rider Oliveira, and Italian championship candidate Francesco Bagnaia in third.

With three races remaining, he is currently just two points behind Yamaha’s Quartararo in the standings.

Brad Binder of South Africa placed 10th on his Red Bull KTM, but his brother Darryn could only finish 21st in his Yamaha.

Quartararo of France had a terrible day, while Aleix Espargaro of Spain, who is now third in the race for the championship, also had a miserable day.

In the first MotoGP held in Thailand since 2019 he finished 11th and is 20 points behind Quartararo. To call the winner of the championship race.

After surpassing the championship rivals, Oliveira said, “Every time we have an opportunity to ride on the wet, I’m usually really quick.”

Due to heavy rain over the Buriram track, the race was delayed for over an hour, and it took place in hazardous circumstances.

The rider who had all the impetus, Ducati’s Bagnaia, stated after Quartararo and he had once again closed the distance, “Very, very, very delighted.”

After winning last weekend in Japan, Miller finished on the podium for the second time in a row.

Miller stated, “I was pushing hard there; I didn’t give up on winning.

“Under these circumstances, it’s not an easy assignment.”

Marco Bezzecchi, a rookie from Italy, won his maiden MotoGP pole position on Saturday but finished in 16th place overall.

The Moto2 race was temporarily reduced from 24 to 16 laps due to severe rain, and the start and finish lines were afterwards compared to lakes by the commentators.

Somkiat Chantra, a Thai hero who began the race on pole position for the first time, crashed early in the downpour circumstances after building up a two-second lead. It was hardly a fairy tale ending for him.

Eighth lap saw the introduction of the red flag by race officials.

Attempts to resume with a five-lap sprint were postponed by a second red flag as torrential rain lashed certain portions of the course.

Because two-thirds of the race distance was not covered, race organizers were compelled to postpone the restart and award half points; Tony Arbolino of Italy won the competition ahead of Czech rider Filip Salac and Spanish rider Aron Canet.

The Moto3 race was won by Italian rider Dennis Foggia on a Honda, giving him four victories for the year.

Midway through October, MotoGP heads to Australia’s Phillip Island before moving on to Malaysia and concluding in Valencia, Spain.
