Michigan woman sues man for $10,000 in damages after he failed to show up for a date

After he passed her up for a date, a woman from Michigan is suing the man for $10,000 in damages.

According to TMZ, QaShontae Short is suing Richard Jordan in the court of Judge Herman Marable Jr. in Flint, Michigan for causing her intentional emotional distress.

Short claims Jordan “did not show and left on her mother’s birthday and her mum had recently passed away” and that by doing so, he purposely and deliberately damaged her. The lawsuit was filed back in 2020.

When Short started screaming at the judge and refusing to answer his questions, the Zoom court hearing swiftly descended into chaos.

During video posted online of the trial, Jordan, who appears to be at home, claims that he’s being sued for $10,000 because of a bad date and says little else. Short appears to be taking the Zoom conference hearing at an airport.

‘To be honest with you sir, I thought this was just going to be thrown out,’ Jordan deadpans to the judge. ‘We had a date, one date, and nothing else after that, and now I’m being sued for $10,000. I think this is a waste of your time.’

Short and Marable argue throughout the majority of the film about whether or not this is a criminal offense or even belongs in district court. Marable eventually rips off his big shield mask to yell at her while short keeps shouting.

Short asserts that Jordan lied about being on the date with her, and Marable retorts angrily that Short is unable to decide whether Jordan lied or not.

Unhappy, Short continually queries, “Are we done here?” and inquiries about transferring the case to circuit court.

Jordan can do nothing but shake his head, put his head in his hands, and act bewildered.

2020 saw Short initiate several baseless lawsuits for $300 million against the Flint Police Department and AT&T, both of which were later dismissed. Short has a track record of filing pointless lawsuits.

Her Facebook page states that she has been a widow since 2005 and has recently worked for FedEx, Hunting National Bank, and General Motors. As of June 7, she doesn’t seem to be employed.

Her Instagram bio also states that she is living the #celibatelife and contains a link to a Maxim photoshoot that has since been removed.

Short now has 56 days to pay all transfer fees and expenses; otherwise, the case will be dismissed and the circuit court won’t even hear it.
