Merhawi Kudus becomes National Champion of 2022 of Eritrea’s Road Cycling Championship

The Eritrea Road Cycling Championship 2022, which began on Friday, June 24, with a Time Trial competition in Asmara, came to an end today, June 26, with a Road Race.

Due to his victory in the 171.7 km men’s elite race while riding at 43.3 km/h, Mergawi Kudus, a member of the American EF Education Club, is crowned the country’s champion for 2022.

Second place went to Natnael Tesfatsion, and third place goes to Niat Russom of the EriTel Club.

As a result, Milkias Kudus and Samson Habte from Eri-Tel Club placed second and third in the under 23 category, respectively, while Niat Russom was crowned the winner.

Monaliza Araya from the Southern area won the gold medal in the women’s elite and under-23 category, which included a 110 km course. Kisanet Woldemicael from Serair Sawa Club and Adiam Dawi from Denden Club won the silver and bronze medals, respectively.
