Houston Cougars’ Upset Loss to Memphis Tigers Could Impact March Madness.

In a surprising turn of events, the Houston Cougars lost to the Memphis Tigers in the American Athletic Conference Championship, which could have implications for March Madness.

Despite being 5.5-point favorites on FanDuel, the Cougars, who were missing their leading scorer Marcus Sasser, were defeated by the Tigers, led by Kendric Davis who scored 29 points.

Houston’s defense was weak, allowing Memphis to shoot 50 percent from the field, resulting in the Cougars’ loss.

Without Sasser, the Cougars struggled to make shots, with only 7-27 (25.9 percent) from the field.

There is hope that Sasser will be ready for the first round of the March Madness Tournament, but it is expected that he may be limited in the early rounds, if he can play at all.

Despite the upset loss, Houston is still likely to be a No. 1 seed in the tournament and is considered one of the strongest teams in the pool, with many expecting them to be a popular pick in March Madness brackets.
