Melbourne man caught by police with a car full of $2.000 worth of allegedly stolen meat

A man allegedly had stolen meat and seafood worth $2,000 in his car when he was arrested.

Victoria police caught the alleged meat thief from Cheltenham on Sunday in Cairnlea, Melbourne.

The haul includes fish, shrimp, lamb chops, lamb racks and roast beef from Coles

Officers interviewed the man in reference to the suspected stolen produce.

Police stated the meat was later returned to Coles

The man is expected to be prosecuted on summons, meaning he will be obliged to appear in court.
