Melbourne employee is accused of raping jogger in Western Australia

A fly-in, fly-out employee from Melbourne is accused of raping a lady in Western Australia when she was out for a morning jog.

At 5.20 am on Friday in Broome, the lady, who was in her 40s, was jogging on a track along Gubinge Road.

Dean Osborne, 52, a fly-in, fly-out electrical miner, is accused of approaching her after that and assaulting her sexually.

The lady yelled for aid, and Osborne reportedly verbally threatened bystanders who attempted to help.

Then, according to Detective Senior Sergeant Brian Beck, Osborne left the area.

He said that while there was no physical fight, the guy verbally threatened any bystanders who attempted to step in before fleeing.

On Saturday, police executed a search warrant at a hotel in Cable Beach, leading to the man’s capture.

The West Australian stated that he was accused of three charges of aggravated rape.

On Sunday, Osborne made a video connection appearance at Northbridge Magistrates Court from the Broome police station.

On July 24, he published a status update on Facebook indicating that he was waiting in the Virgin Australia Lounge at Perth Airport before flying to Broome.

He added, “Chill (sic) on free s*** before I travel to work.”

On Monday, Osborne will make another appearance at Broome Magistrates Court.
