Melbourne crime figure Tony Mokbel rushed to Geelong Hospital from Barwon Prison

Tony Mokbel Hospitalized with Possible Blood Clot.

Tony Mokbel, a notorious figure in Melbourne’s underworld, has been rushed to Geelong Hospital from Barwon Prison. According to reports, he may be suffering from a blood clot.

The Department of Justice and Community Safety confirmed that a prisoner was taken to the hospital. Mokbel, who is serving a 30-year sentence for drug trafficking, has experienced various medical problems in recent years.

In a court hearing last month, it was revealed that Mokbel’s mental health had deteriorated due to severe social isolation. He was also hospitalized in April last year for chest pains.

In 2019, Mokbel suffered a cardiac arrest after being attacked by two inmates who had stabbed and beaten him with makeshift weapons. He also had a heart attack in February 2012 while in custody.
