Megyn Kelly criticized CBS News on social media after it restored its “pause” on Twitter activity less than 48 hours after announcing that it would “watch the platform” in response to Elon Musk’s extensive modifications.

“Is this satire? The old home of Mike Wallace and Ed Bradley, CBS News, is terrified of… Twitter? Kelly sent a tweet on Sunday.

Kelly sent the tweet with a video in which a journalist explained that the network has suspended its Twitter activity “out of an excess of caution.”

The communications department of The Tiffany Network’s news division tweeted on Friday, “Due to the uncertainty surrounding Twitter and an abundance of caution, CBS News is stopping its activities on the social networking site while it continues to watch the platform.”

Sunday morning, the network declared a 180-degree turnabout.

“After halting for the majority of the weekend to examine security concerns, CBS News and Stations has resumed its Twitter activity while continuing to monitor the situation,” a CBS News PR account tweeted.

CBS News was ridiculed by Twitter users, including the social media platform’s new owner, Elon Musk.

Musk responded with an emoji showing hysterical laughter. Invoking the popular film “Brokeback Mountain,” he also uploaded a manipulated picture representing CBS News as a homosexual lover with an unhealthy obsession.

Another Twitter user wrote, “Lmaoo [laughing my asses off] you didn’t even last 24 hours.”

“Oh, everyone beware…@CBSNewsPress is now watching the situation on Twitter,” quipped one Twitter user.

Musk’s first month as CEO of Twitter was tumultuous. An estimated three-quarters of the company’s personnel has been laid off, prompting concerns that the app was on the point of failing owing to the company’s remaining skeletal team of engineers.

CBS News’s public relations department announced the “halt” on Twitter on Friday.
It is unknown what led CBS News to resume broadcasting.

The Tesla magnate also made headlines by removing prohibitions on controversial people like as former President Donald Trump, Ye, the artist formerly known as Kanye West, author Jordan Peterson, and the account of the parody news website The Babylon Bee.

The Post has reached out to CBS News for comment. What transpired between the original stop and CBS News’s decision to restart Twitter activity is unknown.

Blue-chip corporations have ceased advertising on Twitter as a result of the site’s upheaval, which is a big setback considering that advertisements are a crucial source of revenue for the cash-strapped social media platform.

Allianz, a German insurance and asset management, Audi of America, General Mills, General Motors, Gilead Sciences, Mondelez International, Pfizer, United Airlines, and Volkswagen all announced advertising stops through Twitter.

According to Reuters, the brands noted the rise of hate speech since Musk seized control of the site.

According to reports, advertisers had informed Musk that they would push their clients to drop advertisements from Twitter if he revived Trump’s account.
