Meat cleaver found in suburban home where guy attacked girlfriend, child

Detectives have confiscated a meat cleaver from the suburban home where a 49-year-old man reportedly stabbed his girlfriend and her kid to death.

WeiFeng Huang was charged with two charges of murder after police discovered him, Jifeng Liu, known as Eileen, 47, and her son Wenhao ‘Sam’ Du, in his early 20s, in an upstairs bedroom of a Brisbane property on Monday.

The victims were clothed in ‘night clothes,’ which fits with a police assumption that the crime happened early Monday morning.

We suspect one of the victims called friends and relatives before the killings, he added.

The nature of the phone conversations and what was said are under examination.

Huang, who speaks Cantonese, called for help at 9:40 a.m. Monday and opened the front door when cops arrived.

Huang appeared before Brisbane Magistrates Court by phone from his hospital bed.
