The mother suspected of murdering strangling her two small children and attempting to kill her infant before jumping out of a window in Massachusetts had posted online months previously that she had been battling with her mental health after giving birth.

The Boston Globe reported that 32-year-old Lindsay Clancy revealed her struggle with postpartum anxiety on Facebook in July, months before the horrific assault at her house in Duxbury on Tuesday.

Six weeks after giving birth to her third child, the mother of three wrote another post about feeling “dialed in” once more.

She stated that she was focused on fitness, nutrition, and her mindset, stating that “it has made all the difference.”

The Facebook post is not visible to the public.

According to sources who spoke to CBS Boston, officials are weighing the likelihood that Clancy suffered from postpartum psychosis.

Clancy, a labor and delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, is accused of murdering her 5-year-old daughter Cora and 3-year-old son Dawson, as well as attempting to murder her 8-month-old son.

She remains hospitalized after allegedly attempting suicide by jumping out of a second-story window on Summer Street, some 35 miles southeast of Boston.

Officials have stated that Clancy is charged with two charges of murder, three counts of strangling or suffocation, and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

The Globe stated that firefighters responding to a 911 call from Clancy’s husband Patrick saw their three children “unconscious with obvious signs of trauma.”

Cora and Dawson were confirmed dead at a hospital, while the 8-month-old kid was airlifted to Boston Children’s Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

After reportedly killing her 5-year-old daughter and 3-year-old son, Lindsay Clancy was charged with strangulation.

“I cannot even begin to fathom the pain, the depths of pain” the family must be through, said Timothy Cruz, the district attorney of Plymouth, who did not offer any information regarding a possible motive.

The hospital stated in a statement, “We are shocked and saddened to learn of this unimaginable tragedy.” We send our sincere condolences to everyone touched by these tragic events.

According to the article, Clancy, who graduated from Lyman Hall High School in Wallingford, Connecticut, and Patrick were married in 2016 in Southington, Connecticut.

According to the Globe, she possesses a bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Massachusetts General Hospital Institute of Health Professions and a bachelor’s degree in biology from Quinnipiac University.

Clancy stated in her yearbook profile that “life can be messy at times,” according to the outlet.

“No matter how hard you fight, you will always lose. And it is frightening. However, there is a benefit to free falling. It’s the opportunity you give your pals to catch you,” she added, according to reports.

The pair purchased 47 Summer Street for $500,000 in 2018, according to town documents quoted by the Globe.

Lindsay Clancy was absent from her nursing duties at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Last week, when she spoke with Lindsay Clancy, the great-grandmother of the children reported that nothing seemed unusual.

Clancy seemed online to be a devoted mother residing in an idyllic suburban town.

She wrote, “I feel like the luckiest mother in the entire world.” In a later post, she stated, “I am so unbelievably grateful for my family and my life.”

The back window of an SUV parked outside the residence on Wednesday bore a “Baby on Board” sticker, according to the Globe.

Christopher Clancy, the father-in-law of Clancy, declined to comment.

Residents were shocked by the deaths and the charges brought against their neighbor.

“It’s quite sad. It’s as if to say, “How can this happen here?” Tom McGrath told the Globe about the incident and extended his thoughts to the family.

He added, in reference to Clancy, “especially for the baby, and prayers for what she went through to actually do this.”

Rob Reardon, chief of the Duxbury Fire Department, stated that support services were made available to first responders who encountered the horrible situation.

René Read appeared tearful while telling reporters that she collaborates closely with first responders.

According to the Globe, Read stated, “I know a little bit of what they go through, but when they tell me it’s the worst they’ve ever seen, it will have an effect.”
