Man Found Dead with Hammer Next to Him in Queens Public Housing Apartment

A 61-year-old man was found dead inside his apartment in a Queens public housing building, with a hammer lying next to him and bleeding from the mouth, according to police sources. The man’s identity has not yet been disclosed.

The discovery was made by the authorities when they responded to a 911 call at around 6:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

The incident occurred at NYCHA’s Ravenswood Houses unit, located on 35th Avenue near 21st Street in Astoria.

When the police arrived at the scene, the man was found lying on the ground with blood coming from his mouth, and a hammer was discovered next to him. However, there were no other signs of trauma.

Despite the efforts of the emergency medical services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
