Mamelodi Sundowns loses their FIRST home game

The penultimate round of matches in the 2021/22 DStv Premiership season was played on Saturday, 14 May – with some shock results.

In total seven matches took place with only Orlando Pirates (due to their CAF Confederation Cup commitments) and Maritzburg United (who had no one to play).

Champions Mamelodi Sundowns suffered a shock – and heavy – 3-0 defeat at home to Stellenbosch FC.

It was Masandawana’s first home defeat (and third overall) of the season in what was their final home match of the season.

Mamelodi Sundowns will finish their season away to Royal AM on Saturday, 21 May at 15:00.

Meanwhile, Cape Town City FC and Royal AM, who are both chasing a CAF Champions League spot, were held to draws.
