A sweet-toothed mother bear and her cheeky cub broke into a house in California and helped themselves to some donuts that were left out on the kitchen counter.
Alice Taylor, a local of Monrovia, was unsurprised to discover the furry guests rummaging around her kitchen.
Taylor told ABC7, “We realize that our trash cans will be knocked over.” There are obvious drawbacks to having bears in our neighborhood.
Taylor was alarmed by the unexpected visit, but she also had a good laugh when she saw that the mother bear and her cub had taken some liberties and were eating the donuts that were on the counter.
The incident was recorded on video by Taylor.
‘Oh my God, that’s our donuts! That’s our donuts,’ Taylor can be heard saying.
‘We understand that our trash cans are going to get knocked over,’ Taylor told abc7. ‘There’s certain things that go with having bears in our community.’
While the unannounced visit caused Taylor a scare, she also got some laughs when she realized that the mama bear and her baby had taken some liberties and were helping themselves to donuts that were on the counter.
The incident was recorded on video by Taylor.
‘Oh my God, that’s our donuts! That’s our donuts,’ Taylor can be heard saying. 
Taylor was unaware that a cub was also snooping around the kitchen at first.
Oh my God, a baby is also present! In the corner, there is a baby bear,” Taylor explains in the video.
While someone in the room proposes just letting the mother and her cub be, Taylor can be heard trying to come up with a strategy for safely leaving the residence.
“We must leave the house,” I said. Before suggesting that 911 be called, Taylor says, “So we go at the back.”
Taylor gave it some more thought and decided to make some noise to scare the mother and her cub away.
Taylor tried to chase the furry guests away, but they initially were unaffected and resumed their donut feast.
A few moments later, they finally left the kitchen in a rush when Taylor continued banging on the wall.
But the furry visitors were not gone for long. According to Taylor, they were so impressed by the donuts, that they made another visit the following day.
