On Tuesday, 6 June, a fire erupted along the bustling Albert Road in Woodstock, Cape Town.
The City of Cape Town’s Fire and Rescue Service swiftly responded to the incident, dispatching around two dozen firefighters to the scene.

According to Jermaine Carelse, the spokesperson for the Fire and Rescue Service, the alert regarding the fire was received at approximately 12:30 on Tuesday.
The blaze had engulfed a two-storey building located on Albert Road.

Upon arrival, the initial crew from Salt River promptly assessed the situation and requested additional assistance.
Firefighters from various stations, including Salt River, Roeland Street, Brooklyn, Epping, and Milnerton, were present at the scene.
Carelse noted that the fire was intensifying in the two-storey structure, making it a dynamic situation.
Injury and Road Closure:
Unfortunately, one person sustained injuries in the fire incident.
To facilitate the firefighting efforts, Albert Road has been closed to traffic until the situation is brought under control.
