Loadshedding has reached stage three

Friday afternoon, Eskom announced that stage three loadshedding will be imposed from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.

The nation is currently in stage four after experiencing stage six earlier in the week.

Since the start of the holiday season, load-shedding has been a daily occurrence, and the entire nation has faced widespread power outages.

The Electricity Utility stated they would finalize the loadshedding plans for Christmas Day based on the condition of the power grid at a later date.

Friday’s announcement of the company’s annual statistics revealed an increase in financial performance, but sustained poor plant performance and excessive debt levels remain a concern.

“Revenue climbed to R246.5 billion due to a 15.06% increase in tariffs and a 3.4% increase in sales volume.”

At the end of March 2022, its net loss was R12.3 billion.
