Liz Truss and Zelensky ‘coordinated’ to pressure Russia

In the seventh month of Moscow’s invasion of Ukraine, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on Tuesday that he has “planned” with Britain’s incoming Prime Minister Liz Truss “additional pressure” on Russia.

Truss is the next leader of the British Conservative Party, succeeding Boris Johnson, one of Zelensky’s most ardent supporters.

Zelensky stated on Twitter that he was the first foreign leader to invite Truss to Ukraine after her confirmation in her new position.

He “thanked the British people for the substantial defense and economic aid to Ukraine” and emphasized that “it is crucial that Britain be prepared to further reinforce it.”

Zelensky stated that he and Truss “organized” additional pressure on Russia.

“The objective is to end the attack and bring the criminals to account,” he said, adding, “it’s crucial to label Russia a terrorist state.”

Since Russia’s invasion on February 24, the United Kingdom has been a firm backer of Ukraine.

London has sent military equipment, cash, and training to Kyiv’s beleaguered soldiers, which are currently engaged in combat in the nation’s south and east.
