Former Strictly Come Dancing Judge Len Goodman Passes Away at 78

Len Goodman, the former head judge of Strictly Come Dancing, has passed away at the age of 78.

The announcement was made on ITV’s Lorrain show, and his spokeswoman Jackie Gill has confirmed the news in a statement.

Gill expressed that Len was a much-loved husband, father, and grandfather who will be missed by his family, friends, and all those who knew him.

Len was well-known for his extensive knowledge of dancing, sense of humour, and unique way of shouting the score of “SEVEN!”

He served as the head judge of Strictly Come Dancing from 2004 to 2016 and was also a part of the US version of the show, Dancing with the Stars, from 2005 until 2022.

Len stepped down from the American show last autumn to spend more time with his grandchildren and family in the UK.

After retiring, he established the Goodman Dance Academy in Kent and became an examiner for the National Association of Teachers of Dance, a Fellow of the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, and an adjudicator for the World Dance Council.

Len Goodman’s death is a significant loss for the entertainment industry, as he was a much-loved figure in the world of dancing and television.

His legacy will undoubtedly live on through his contributions to the art of dance and the joy he brought to so many through his work on Strictly Come Dancing and Dancing with the Stars.
