Lawyer: ‘Duck Sauce Killer’ molested wife for decades

Prior to Dorothy Bederow’s arrest, prosecutors “understood that Dorothy was a long-term victim of Glenn’s domestic violence,” according to a two-page letter Bederow sent to Assistant District Attorney Thomas Salmon on Friday.

Ten sealed arrests, most of which included his wife as the victim and occurred between 1991 and 2012, were sent with the letter.

Before the couple was even married, in 1995, the abuse started decades before.

Dorothy was allegedly held hostage in a hotel room by Glenn Hirsch, who then stripped her and pistol-whipped her.

He repeatedly raped and sodomised her while keeping her tied, muzzled, and blindfolded. Then he struck her, whacked her with a ruler, and slashed her as he ran a knife over her tummy.

Twelve years later, Glenn Hirsch struck his wife again, this time with a towel bundled up, before punching and kicking her and covering her face with a pillow to cover her screens.

If she reported him to the authorities, he threatened to murder her and her family.

In his bedroom, cops discovered a rifle, a lot of ammunition, a knife, and even a police shield.

Bederow is now requesting that the district attorney’s office provide any previously revealed information on Glenn Hirsch’s arrests that will support his wife’s defence.

Attorney Bederow told DailyMail.com: “They have charged her first and searched for proof afterwards.”

After what transpired today, it is quite clear that she is being held accountable for the alleged transgressions of her late husband, in my opinion. I find that to be shameful.

“I’m unhappy that she was ever accused of a crime,”

According to Bederow, “the evidence of Glenn’s years of abuse of Dorothy was advantageous to her getting the charges dismissed since it presents an easy reason as to why she wouldn’t confront Glenn Hirsch about his conduct and his property, and why she wouldn’t search his belongings.

“That evidence definitely matters to her argument that she didn’t know the firearms were in HIS closet because she wouldn’t dare ask him or go into the stuff he kept,” the prosecutor said.

It is sad that the district attorney would just ignore the history of domestic abuse and refuse to provide beneficial material by adamantly declaring that it is irrelevant, the attorney said.

In a statement, Bederow stated, “We are entitled to facts they knew about before they decided to prosecute Dorothy for having what were definitely Glenn Hirsch’s firearms.”

According to prior reports, Glenn Hirsch’s flat was entirely packed with trash and his refrigerator was loaded to the brim with sweet and sour duck sauce.

Additionally, Hirsch proclaimed his innocence in Yan’s murder, saying, “I did not shoot Mr. Yan and I am not accountable for his death.”

Additionally, he urged Melinda Katz, the district attorney for Queens, to ‘launch a proper inquiry’ into Yan’s death on April 30.

“My indictment and subsequent incarceration in connection with this subject is one of the most outrageous and atrocious incidents of slander and unjust arrest in recent memory,” Hirsch claims in his statement.

This situation exemplifies shoddy police work, confirmation bias, political pressure, and hasty judgement.

Additionally, he was furious with the NYPD for publishing images of his refrigerator’s inside in an effort “to depict me as someone who is condiment obsessive.”

Several friends and family members came out in support of Dorothy Hirsch today since, according to her attorneys, she would not have been aware of the firearms.

Cops found sweet and sour duck sauce stocked in Glenn Hirsch’s refrigerator at his Briarwood residence.

According to a police source, “His whole refrigerator was loaded with duck sauce and other condiments.”

He hoards things. And when you open the refrigerator, you see condiments like ketchup, soy sauce, and duck sauce.

The insider said Hirsch’s flat on 141st Street was filled with stacks of condiments, which may have contributed to his decision to murder.

You didn’t offer him enough duck sauce, they said, “I think in some way guys like him take such things extremely seriously.”

Melinda Katz, the district attorney for Queens, said in a statement: “The loss of a human life is always heartbreaking.

Naturally, we would have liked to have Mr. Glenn Hirsch tried in a court of law for the deliberate killing of Mr. Zhiwen Yan, but this is no longer an option.

We once again offer our sincere sympathies to Mr. Zhiwen Yan’s family and friends, who are still mourning his unfortunate and needless passing.
