For the month of June 2022, the Lagos State Infrastructure Asset Management Agency (LASIAMA) won the monthly Ministries, Departments and Agencies environmental hygiene and proper sanitation award.
LASIAMA came out on top in terms of environmental hygiene and sanitation, according to a statement made by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources, Mr. Omobolaji Tajudeen Gaji. The assessment was conducted across MDAs in the Main and Old Secretariat Complexes.
In order to ensure that the atmosphere of government buildings projects a pleasant image to the public, Gaji noted that the assessment of sanitation status of the MDAs inside the precinct of the Secretariat Complexes began in April 2021.
The Permanent Secretary praised LASIAMA for the accomplishment and urged the Agency to keep the environment clean in accordance with the State Government’s T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda.
“The Cleanliness Award was initiated in a bid to maintain a healthy and hygienic environment and also in line with the directive of the Head of Service as detailed in the HOS Circular of 23rd March, 2021”, he added. Recall that LASIAMA had won the first edition of the award for the year and maintained its track record for the highest standards of sanitation and hygiene, which has earned the Agency first position several times.
In accordance with its vision for a Greater Lagos, the administration of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is now working to enhance its infrastructure, maintain its current facilities, and build new structures.
