Lagos State government assures citizens that it would continue to drive the economy with technology for optimal productivity and economic growth

In order to maximise productivity and economic progress, the Lagos State administration has promised its inhabitants that it will continue to use technology to drive the economy.

In his office at the Secretariat, Alausa, the Commissioner for Science and Technology, Mr. Hakeem Fahm, disclosed the information while discussing the advantages of upgrading the LASG Campus Network.

He claimed that by upgrading the LASG Campus Network, an enterprise infrastructure that links thousands of computers from various Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) inside and around the Secretariat for e-governance activities, Lagos has reinforced its e-governance operations.

Fahm noted that the major goal of the update is to improve the LASG Campus Enterprise Network’s network availability, performance, and security as well as stabilise its ICT environment for a smarter Lagos. He added that the programme will improve the present network to handle current devices and applications.

He claims that the upgraded campus network infrastructure would also improve communication, promote online conferences, and support e-learning for public servants.

“The upgrade would improve services, enable flexible working patterns, improve LASG Enterprise security, enhance better staff management processes and business process automation”, Fahm said.

He affirmed the current administration’s commitment to being a leader in ICT for the benefit of the State and all of Nigeria by saying that Lagos is more determined to manage the economy via technology.

“Lagos State will continue to introduce ICT-based initiatives and reforms that aim to bring forward developmental progress”, the Commissioner said.
