Lagos NURTW chief ‘Arikuyeri’ killed in park takeover fight


The murder of Sulaimon Lawal, also known as Ariku, the Mile 12 Branch Chairman of the Lagos State Park Management Committee, by suspected cult members, caused chaos on Sunday afternoon.

In Owode Elede, Mike 12, Ketu Owode Onirin, and other areas of the neighborhood, suspected partisans and associates of the murdered transport union member went on the rampage, hitting locals and bystanders.

The rival cult groups engaged in gunfire during their struggle for domination in the car parks near the Mile 12 region of the state.

Ariku may be seen lying helpless while unidentified assailants machete him to death in an online video.

The unfortunate occurrence was reported on Sunday by Benjamin Hundeyin, the police spokesman in Lagos. He said that security personnel had returned everything to normal. “One individual passed away, but everything are back to normal now. Police are present, according to Mr. Hundeyin.
