EAST MARGINAL WAY CORRIDOR IMPROVEMENTS – NORTH SEGMENT CITY OF SEATTLE REQUEST FOR STATEMENTS OF PROPOSALS CONSULTANT SERVICES 22-039 CM SERVICES

Through Seattle Department of Transportation, the City of Seattle wants proposals from qualified firms for SDOT 22-039: East Marginal Way Corridor Improvements – North Segment Construction Management Services.

Through the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT), the City of Seattle seeks Statements of Qualifications for the following essential positions: 1 full time Resident Engineer, 1 full time Assistant Resident Engineer, 4 full time Construction Inspectors, 1 quarter time Schedule Review Expert, and 1 full time Document Control/Contract Administration Specialist are needed to provide Construction Management (CM) services on the East Marginal Way Corridor Improvements – North Segment project, as part of the overall CM team managing the construction contract for the project.

This project involves the removal and replacement of concrete pavement, the installation of a protected bicycle lane facility, the removal and replacement of railroad tracks, the installation of illumination and signals, the replacement of the water main with Earthquake Resistant Ductile Iron Pipe, and the removal of contaminated soils. Other components include the following: sidewalk, curb, curb ramps, cleaning and grubbing, signage, channelization, planting, and drainage.

The work shall be performed in compliance with the FHWA-reviewed plans and specifications for the advertised construction project. This contract will proceed based on the assumption that federal FHWA funding will be provided, since this is anticipated.

The Seattle Department of Transportation plans to execute the construction management consultant contract in November 2022, with completion anticipated in November 2025. The projected value of this contract is roughly $5 million. If more stages are added, the completion date may be delayed by up to five years, and the contract price may be increased by variable amounts. The projected duration of construction completion is six (6) months.
