Currently, Kirstie Allsopp is advocating for young people to live with their parents while attending college in order to save for a house.

The host of Location, Location, Location urged college students to “sacrifice” living at home throughout their studies since it could make “an enormous difference” in their ability to save for a property deposit.

In an interview with Times Radio, she said: ‘ If you choose to go to university, near your family, and you spend those three years living at home, if you’re able to do that, and it’s a great sacrifice to do so, but it can make an amazing difference.

Kirstie Allsopp, a television presenter, advised young people to begin saving as soon as possible if they wish to climb the property ladder.

And there are a variety of things you may do to save for the down payment.

Kirstie also revealed that she was able to buy her first home at the age of 21 with some help from her parents.

If climbing the housing ladder is a goal, she recommends young people to start saving as soon as possible.

These remarks follow her contentious views on savings voiced earlier this year to the Sunday Times.

The 50-year-old urged that in order to be able to buy a home, individuals should give up more amenities such as cable TV and vacations.

She informed them, “When I purchased my first property, EasyJet, coffee, the gym, and Netflix did not exist.

I used to carry a sandwich on my way to work. And on payday I would order pizza, see a movie, and purchase lipstick.

“Interest rates were 15%, and my annual income was £11,500,”

She noted that while it is challenging to climb the property ladder, individuals should not “fall into the trap of believing it’s impossible.”

Numerous young people criticized Kirstie’s perspective on social media, with some noting that it is impractical given the current context.

According to an index, the average price of a home in the United Kingdom reached a new high of £276,759 at the beginning of this year, after rising by around £24,500 over the previous year.

A first-time buyer who forgoes a daily Starbucks latte, a Netflix subscription, a gym membership, and two round-trip EasyJet flights to Europe would save approximately £1,600 per year.

According to Halifax, the average deposit for a first-time buyer is $59,000, meaning buyers would have to forego these funds for 37 years.

Robert Knight stated, “Thanks to #KirstieAllsopp, I’m going to cancel my Disney+ subscription, and by the year 3482, I’ll have enough money to purchase a one-bedroom apartment near me.”

Another woman named Grace tweeted a photo of herself with a Wendy’s restaurant and praised Allsopp for her assistance.

She wrote, “I’m not sure why everyone is complaining. I followed Kirstie Allsopp’s advise and was able to purchase my first property.

Grace uploaded a photo of herself with a Wendy house and thanked Allsopp for her counsel.

In reaction to the backlash, Kirstie tweeted, “Anyone who believes I’ve spent the last 22 years pretending to understand the requirements of British homebuyers must think I’m an exceptionally talented actress.”

If you dislike the shows, you should not watch them. Life is too short for me to care what the press or social media say about me.

If you dislike me, please inform @Channel4, but the easiest way to get rid of me is to stop watching my shows.

Housing is the most pressing issue in the United Kingdom today. It affects education, health, relationships, pensions, fertility, the environment, productivity, etc.’

According to an index, the average price of a home in the United Kingdom reached a record high of £276,759 at the start of this year, after rising by around £24,500 over the previous year.
