Kanye West stated that his ex-wife Kim Kardashian ‘disregarded’ his view on how their children should be raised and that he had to ‘battle for his voice’ in their education, just weeks after comparing himself to a sperm donor with no say in the children’s lives.
In a new interview that aired on Thursday’s edition of Good Morning America, the 45-year-old rapper said his ex-wife directed where their four children attended school and how they dressed.
“I have a voice, but I fought for it.” It sucks to have to yell about what your children are wearing,’ he stated.
He added that as he and Kim fought over the children’s upbringing, he also fought Adidas and Gap for creative control of his Yeezy items.
There were connections between these minor details at Gap, Adidas, and my house. It was a form of disdain for my voice in something that I co-created. I co-created the children, the Gap product, and the Adidas product, he explained.
In what appeared to be a sign of victory or at least calm in his feud with Kim, he posted footage of his two oldest children, North, nine, and Saint, six, at his school in Simi Valley, the Donda Academy.
The $15,000-per-year institution educates children in music, science, and religion. In an Instagram rant earlier this month, he raged that he wanted his children to attend school full-time, but that Kim Kardashian and Hulu, her streaming partner, stopped it.
The rapper, who now goes by the moniker Ye, was interviewed by Linsey Davis, the Live Prime host for ABC News. Thursday’s edition of Good Morning America featured a portion of the interview, but the complete sit-down will air tonight at 8.30pm.
Kim and Kanye had four children together prior to her February divorce petition. In an older Instagram image, they are shown with their children North, nine, Saint, six, Chicago, four, and Psalm, three.
Yesterday, West uploaded a video of his oldest children, North and Saint, attending the Donda Academy.

“I want my children to attend Donda, but I have to battle for that right.” We preach the gospel, and the children sing the gospel,’ he said.
He noted that his objective was to “create a school that equips children with the practical skills they would need in the real world.”
Earlier in the conversation, he stated that social media might have both negative and positive effects.
He said with a smile, “That is one of my favorite questions from this interview.”
I mean, we could use a car to get someone to the hospital, or we could use a car to rush someone to the hospital and inadvertently hit someone. It all depends on how we use it.’
Kanye was furious last month that Kim was attempting to take responsibility of the education of their four children.
The divorce was formalized in June of this year, following their separation in February. During their six years of marriage, they had welcomed four children: North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm.
Last month, in a series of erratic Instagram postings, the rapper – who has previously been candid about his bipolar disorder diagnosis and ongoing struggles with mental illness – accused Kim of attempting to control the lives and education of their children.
In particular, he asserted that Hulu, the streaming company with whom the Kardashians have a lucrative contract, controlled where the children would attend school.
The school’s website states that one of its guiding principles is that “students must be confident in generating ideas.” Their writing will suffer if they do not.”
In a shoutout to Elon Musk, he expressed his desire for youngsters to learn about space travel.

Kanye stated that he was confronting control at the “highest level” and asserted that he was not “mad.”
While alluding to the Kardashians on Hulu, he spoke more about his mental health and his children’s school in what resembled a poetry.
Kanye said in earlier writings that he and other former Kardashian guys Scott Disick, Travis Scott, and Tristan Thompson provided ‘c*um’ for the family’s ladies.
Since then, Kanye has erased the posts. His Instagram account, which has over 17 million followers, is currently vacant.
He also took Adidas and Gap, the retail giants with which he teamed years ago to make and sell his Yeezy clothing and footwear, but with whom he is currently engaged in a legal battle.
On Thursday, he promised to continue his struggle, stating, ‘We got new lawyers…we really had to show them who’s the new boss in town’
He was faced with the infamous 2013 video of him attacking journalist Sway Calloway, who innocently questioned him why he did not create the clothes and shoe brand by himself.
Kanye fumed in the footage, “You don’t have the answers, Sway!”
On Thursday, he conceded that he had been correct the entire time.

This month’s Instagram tantrum was the latest in a run of public meltdowns regarding his marriage.
Kim dated comedian Pete Davidson following her breakup with Kanye. The couple separated earlier this year.
In July 2020, while still married, he revealed at a political rally that he and Kim had contemplated abortion when she was pregnant with North, their eldest child.
He eventually apologized and expressed embarrassment over the admission.
