Kenneth Branagh dons fat costume for new drama

Even though it hasn’t been launched yet, it has, I think it’s safe to say, not received very warm reviews.

TV shows Criticism of this England’s portrayal of Boris Johnson as the leader of the nation during the Covid epidemic has been harsh.

Pictures from Sky’s program, however, demonstrate that one aspect was perfect: the makeup.

The former PM can hardly be distinguished from Sir Kenneth Branagh, who played the part while donning a fat suit and undergoing a two-hour makeover each day of production.

The 61-year-old actor had a total of 42 intricate prosthetic faces created for him.

According to makeup artist Vanessa White, “[Sir Kenneth] has so many items on him.” Only Ken’s eyes and chin are visible; everything else is a fake. We had to physically tape up the back of his neck and his head to keep him in place.

She said that she believed the representation would make Mr. Johnson “pleased.”

Former chancellor Rishi Sunak, portrayed by Shri Patel, who cut his long hair for the job, and former top assistant Dominic Cummings, played by Simon Paisley Day, are other figures who are guaranteed to fool the eye.

Andrew Buchan played Matt Hancock, a former health secretary.

The six-part dramatization of Mr. Johnson’s administration during the epidemic premieres on Wednesday on Sky Atlantic.
