Kelsey Plum, the Las Vegas Aces guard, had a savage response about the surprise trade of her husband, Pro Bowl tight end Darren Waller, from the Raiders to the Giants on Tuesday.
The move drew criticism on Twitter, with former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III making a comment about Waller’s recent marriage to Plum and the Raiders’ head coach, Josh McDaniels.
Plum responded to Griffin’s comment with a witty joke about McDaniels not being invited to their wedding.
Plum later shared a screen grab of Griffin’s tweet on her Instagram Stories, expressing excitement about the move to the Giants.
The trade came after McDaniels accidentally leaked the news of the couple’s wedding earlier this month to reporters at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Waller was reportedly upset with McDaniels when a newspaper announced their wedding date days before the nuptials.
Before the trade, McDaniels had praised Waller, saying he would be a big part of their plans going forward.
However, the Raiders had been shopping Waller for more than a year, according to NFL Network.
The Giants sent a third-round draft pick to the Raiders in exchange for Waller, who signed a three-year, $51 million extension with the Raiders in September.
Plum, an All-Star guard who helped the Aces win their first WNBA title last season, is currently preparing for the 2023 campaign, which starts in May.
