Is age merely a number?
Despite their 34-year age difference, Katharine McPhee wants more children with her husband, David Foster, but she is not in a “crazy hurry” to do so.
“I’d love to have another child, but we’ll see,” the “Smash” alum said on Friday’s “The Jennifer Hudson Show.”
“We’re not in a mad rush, but I hope so because I adore being a mother. I truly enjoy it.”
McPhee, 38, and Foster, 73, have a 1-year-old son named Rennie.
Allison, 52, Amy, 49, Sara, 41, Erin, 40, and Jordan, 36, are five of the music producer’s adult daughters from prior relationships.
Foster has stated publicly that he has no regrets about having a sixth child at an older age.
In October 2022, the Canadian musician told People, “I’ve loved every single day.”
“It’s a cliché to say, ‘Well, you were so young when you had your children, and you worked day and night, so you never saw them.’” Sadly, that is partially true for my [older] children. I was simply working very hard. Even though I’m now really busy, I’ll cancel anything to spend time with him. It is simply different.”
Recently, Foster stated that one of the benefits of being an older father is the ability to impart “wisdom” to his young son.
“Even though I won’t be around when he’s 50 or 40 or 30,” the “You’re the Inspiration” songwriter told People earlier this month, “I think I can offer him wisdom from my [73] years on the planet, and maybe that’s not a bad trade-off.” “I’m hopeful.”
More than three years have passed since McPhee and Foster wed.
In November 2022, the “American Idol” alum stated that the couple keeps the spark alive in their marriage by making time to “reconnect” despite their hectic schedules.
She explained, “I’ll have a glass of wine – he doesn’t drink – and we’ll just talk.” This is the time we always make sure to spend together.
