Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, intended to name his album “Ye” after Adolf Hitler and reportedly has a “obsession” with the Nazi leader, according to a Thursday CNN report citing individuals close to the musician.
According to CNN’s sources, West publicly admired the Nazis’ use of propaganda and mentioned reading Hitler’s Mein Kampf.
“He would praise Hitler by remarking how fantastic it was that he was able to amass so much power and would discuss all the great things Hitler and the Nazi Party did for the German people,” a former company executive who worked for West told the site.
In recent weeks, West has generated controversy with antisemitic tweets and by donning a “White Lives Matter” shirt, resulting in a number of businesses severing connections with the rapper.
