Kane Brown sings with his wife about “wild childhood.”

Since 2016, country singer Kane Brown has made the transition from opening act to headlining act. Brown has just completed his Blessed and Free tour, during which he visited every NBA venue.

Despite his accomplishment, Brown maintains his humility. Brown, who was raised near the Tennessee-Georgia border, recalls that music helped him escape his “crazy life” as a child.

“Had to mature far more quickly than the average individual… Just, you know, a lot of movement. Then there was no father figure. Child abuse, stated Brown.

Brown stated that he was severely beaten as a child. He recalled in detail an incidence of abuse in which one of his stepfathers allegedly shaved his head.

“As a punishment, one of my stepfathers shaved my head bald and applied aftershave to me. Made me physically consume half a bar of soap, as opposed to simply biting into it. I was required to physically consume and swallow it. “Therefore, all manner of bizarre occurrences,” he stated.

Brown encountered racism for the first time in middle school.

“It was essentially my first actual girlfriend. Obviously, we were on a bus. And when she was ready to be sent off, she said, “I can’t talk to you any longer.” And I was, like, ‘What do you mean?’ “And she said, ‘My dad told me you’re Black,’” he recalled.

Such memories have stayed with Brown his entire life. However, he believes his talent should speak for itself when it comes to being a Black country singer.

“You know, I shouldn’t have to say anything, right? As a Black artist, I’m standing in front of everyone. He stated, “I’m selling out venues.” “I’m being broadcast on the radio. I am performing all of these activities. That should be enough to convince you that country music is improving. And people should be more forthcoming.”

His latest smash tune is among his most personal. “Thank God” is a duet performed by Brown and his wife Katelyn. When they initially met, they bonded over their shared appreciation for music.

Brown stated that his wife was hesitant to perform the song, but he knew immediately that it would be a “hit.” Katelyn stated that the duet had been in the works for six years. But they believed now was the appropriate moment to do it so they could show their two girls, Kodi Jane, 10 months old, and Kingsley Rose, 2 years old.

“It’s so different from the past. We didn’t have kids. How amazing would it be for our girls to one day listen to their parents! Katelyn said.
