Kaizer Chiefs: Arthur Zwane, Dillon Sheppard are NOT the solution!

Kaizer Chiefs: Arthur Zwane, Dillon Sheppard are NOT the solution!

Kaizer Chiefs are sadly busy rewriting the record books for all the WRONG reasons, much to the annoyance of their supporters.

Amakhosi again set an unwanted league record with their 2-1 defeat to Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium on Saturday.

Craig Martin and Terrence Mashego netted for the Citizens while Dumisani Zuma came off the bench to score a consolation goal for the Soweto giants.

This was Amakhosi’s third league game since Stuart Baxter was sacked as head coach, with Arthur Zwane and Dillon Sheppard taking over.

The duo came in just after the Glamour Boys had lost 1-0 to SuperSport United.

They have now overseen further defeats to Stellenbosch FC (1-0), Golden Arrows (2-1) and now Cape Town City.

In doing so, Amakhosi have now lost FOUR consecutive matches – the first time the proud club has suffered such embarrassment since the inception of the PSL in 1996.

Historically, interim coaches come in and make an immediately impact (for the better).

But not this time.

In fact, it’s the first time in exactly 10 years that an interim Amakhosi coach – or coaches – have been appointed but lost their first three matches in charge.

Previously, Ace Khuse did the same in April 2012 when he took over following Vladimir Vermezovic’s departure.

The string of defeats suffered by Kaizer Chiefs once again highlighted the problems the Soweto giants are currently facing, not only in their technical team, but among their playing personnel as well.

The end of the season cannot come fast enough for the Naturena-based side.

Their fans will be hoping – and praying – for once they do some good business in the transfer window.
