Kailia Posey: More details emerge on ‘Toddlers & Tiaras’ star’s suicide

The Whatcom County medical examiner in Washington announced that Kailia Posey’s cause of death was asphyxia due to ligature hanging, and the manner was suicide, according to Page Six.

The autopsy and toxicology reports will not be disclosed. The publications reports that this is because disclosure would be “highly offensive” and “not of legitimate concern to the public, and therefore would violate the right to privacy.”

The family confirmed Kailia committed suicide on 2 May.

“Although she was an accomplished teenager with a bright future ahead of her, unfortunately in one impetuous moment, she made the rash decision to end her earthly life,” said the family in a recent statement.

Daily Mail reports that the child star’s body was found inside a car on 2 May at a 194-acre state park located along the Strait of Georgia shoreline, about nine miles from the Canadian border.

THE ‘TODDLERS AND TIARAS’ STAR WAS STRUGGLING BEFORE HER SUICIDE 

One of Kailia’s friends said that she was struggling with her mental health but they did not know how bad it has gotten.

“We knew she was struggling with a few things, and we all did everything we could to encourage her and help,” said the friend to Page Six. “We did’t know what was going on,” the friend added.

Kailia was a young star on the TLC series Toddlers and Tiaras which ran from 2009 to 2013. She appeared in at least two episodes at the age of five. In January, she announced that she was gearing up to compete as Miss Washington Teen USA in February.
