Celebrate Juneteenth by attending one of the many activities and programs held throughout Seattle. Below are some of the many celebrations taking place this week, ranging from Black-owned company markets to free portraits:
Black Arts Legacies by Crosscut
Black Arts Legacies is a month-long series. The celebration will take place on June 16th from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Black Arts Legacies, a digital archive documenting the contributions of Black artists to the Northwest’s cultural landscape, was created by Crosscut. Black Arts Legacies will debut with a lineup of 26 artists spanning decades and artistic fields.
The series culminates on June 16 at Langston Hughes Performing Arts Institute as part of the annual We Out Here Festival with the Black Arts Legacies Celebration. Although RSVPs are currently full, you can register for the waitlist here.

Africatown Community Land Trust is hosting a few events in honor of Juneteenth, starting with a Black Business Panel and accumulating with a community-wide celebration at Jimi Hendrix Park.

Celebrate the Juneteenth Federal Holiday with Mayor Bruce Harrell and the City of Seattle at the One Seattle Juneteenth concert. This FREE concert honors and promotes African-American spirituals and the many musical traditions that have emerged from them, such as gospel music, jazz, R&B, and hip hop.
We Out Here On The Pier by LANGSTON & Friends of Waterfront Seattle

On Saturday, June 18, LANGSTON brings their We Out Here Festival to Pier 62. Music by JusMoni, Stas Thee Boss, Taqueet$, Larry Mizell Jr. & The Mahogany Project, spotlights on local black businesses, food by Dat Creole Soul, Paparepas, All City Ice Cream, and Donut Mama, and more will be featured at this free community event.
Juneteenth Pop-Up Market by the Capitol Hill EcoDistrict
11 a.m. to 3 p.m., June 19

Come celebrate Black companies in the heart of the Central District with Capitol Hill EcoDistrict and community partners Arte Noir, the Central Area Collaborative, and Craft3. Music by KEXP DJ Riz, Black-owned businesses, food vendors, and resources from community organizations dedicated to uplifting and thriving Black communities will be featured.
Juneteenth Celebration – Skate to Freedom Party & Community Day by NAAM
